Four Pittsburgh teens spent months in jail before the DA dropped their charges

“Four teenagers charged in a 2017 Hill District shooting that wounded three children knew there was proof they didn’t do it. But they were prosecuted anyway.

There were witnesses who could vouch for their whereabouts, Lyft records, time-stamped photographs, and records from a juvenile probation GPS monitor showing one of the co-defendants never left his house that night.

Still, it took 15 months before the Allegheny County District Attorney’s office recognized the error and dropped all charges.
